The Shift Network – The Ultimate Man Course
Let’s face it, men. Life can be stressful. Daily we deal with financial pressures, relationship problems, work and job difficulties, aging, health issues, too much to do, not enough time, and everything changing too rapidly to catch up.
And then there’s things like feedback and criticism from women, competition with other men, being a great husband, father, brother or son – all while trying to be of service to our communities.
On top of all that, we face an uncertain future and huge challenges for our planet and civilization — economic uncertainties, job losses, political turmoil, wars, environmental disasters and critical resource limitations.
Most of us feel isolated, too – we don’t have the support of our team, our brothers or a community of men.
So, imagine what your life would actually be like if:
- You are free to bring more passion to your work and your romantic relationship.
- You are clear in your life’s purpose and know how to be successful.
- You dramatically increase your productivity and effectiveness.
- You are comfortable in your own skin and could always be true to yourself.
- You have deep, honest and soulful connections with other good men.
- You tap into your full power and had a significant impact on the world.
- You are easily able to create the life you want
If a life like this sounds like what you want, you’re already on the road to becoming an Ultimate Man.
“Ultimate” isn’t a destination you reach someday and then you’re done. It’s a continual process of honing your best qualities, engaging in practices that enhance your goodness and making better choices to become more and more successful in your life.
Your best qualities are known as virtues. The term “virtues” sounds a bit old-fashioned, but the concept has a rich history. Aristotle (384 – 322 BC) said, “The greatest virtues are those which are most useful to other persons.”
Virtues are developed through repeated practice – like a knife being sharpened on a whetstone through continuous strokes.
During the course, you’ll learn practices you can engage in to become more accountable to yourself and others. This will sharpen your integrity. Like that knife, you’ll press yourself up against your own highest values, until your edges are sharp and clearly defined. Over time, you become known as a man of integrity.
Do you want to feel more personal power and have greater impact at work, in relationships and in the world?

The Ultimate Man course is designed to give you a platform for continuous growth and development. It’s not designed to fix you. Because, ultimately, you’re not broken – and you don’t need to be repaired.
In this course, you’ll learn from experts – men who have honed themselves throughout their lives to be the best men they can be. These are teachers who know how to manifest their heart’s desires, men who walk their talk, men who have proven themselves over and over to be men of virtue:

What’s the proof that it works?
Ask any of the teachers, speakers, and luminaries that we interviewed during The Ultimate Men’s Summit. They have all engaged in their own self-development for decades. They lead happy, successful lives and are making a huge difference in the lives of other. It works – if you do the work.
The single most valuable gift you can give yourself is to engage in practices that hone your virtues. It will improve every aspect of your life, and the lives of those around you. During the Ultimate Man Course, that’s exactly what we’ll do – together.
An Invitation from Host Lion Goodman
Dear Allies,
You may not know this, but you’re a member of a new breed of human being: Homo Novus (or “New Man”). My first mentor, T.D. Lingo, coined this term 40 years ago to describe men who have broken away from the past and are forging a new path into the future.
Most of us have recognized that the old male role models don’t work for us. The rugged individualist, the macho guy, the corporate drone and the 1950s family provider are long outdated. In times of rapid change, being stuck inside a particular identity isn’t just self-limiting – it’s dangerous. We need to prepare for a future that’s unknown and unknowable.
In a stable world, the more you know, the more likely you are to survive and thrive. But in an unstable, unpredictable world, knowledge isn’t enough. What’s required is awareness, adaptability, flexibility and further development of your virtues.
You’ve probably worked on yourself for months, years or decades. You’ve already been cultivating your truth, integrity and goodness. You’ve taken an initiatory workshop, joined a men’s group or done therapy. It’s a long and winding road with plenty of bumps along the way. But with the support of others, we make steady progress. In business terms, we are practicing what’s called “Continuous Quality Improvement.”
I believe we’re never actually done with our inner work. Over time, we become more and more ourselves: more comfortable in our own skin, more committed to living our life in service to others, more skilled at self-correcting when we go wrong. We learn to be vulnerable, tender and caring without losing our core strength. We are Homo Novus.
That’s why we created this course, The Ultimate Man: Activating a Life of Integrity, Authenticity and Power, with some of the best teachers of men in the country.
The most exciting aspect of this program is the orientation toward practices – the real application of our inner work into daily reality. This is where the rubber meets the road. This is where you show up – or you don’t. It’s where all the real learning is.
Throughout the course, we’ll be using an integrity practice called The Promise Game. This is a new twist on the concept of accountability – removing the negative connotations we have with promises (shame, blame and punishment if you break a promise) and replacing it with a highly supportive learning game. Don’t miss this chance to learn this potent methodology. It will help you accomplish everything you want in your life.
There will also be some surprises, including bonus speakers, free articles and more. But the real gift is the one you give yourself by participating. Dive deeper into yourself in the company of great men. Engage in practices that will hone your virtues, fine-tune your integrity, amplify your passion, extend your connections and cultivate your Soul!
I’m grateful to The Shift Network for this opportunity to share what I’ve learned in my 40+ years of self-development and men’s work, and for the ability to form a spirited community of inquiry and practice that will nurture your soul while bringing healing to your relationships, your families, your clients, your community and our world.
This is a powerful moment of global change, and we’ve got our work cut out for us. Let’s become the men we’ve been waiting for, rock the house and build a new world.
